The 2014 Milwaukee Avenue Arts Festival is back in the neighborhood THIS WEEKEND! Each summer, I AM Logan Square turns Milwaukee Avenue into a gallery district featuring an eclectic variety of art, food and music from local sources. The 2014 MAAF runs from this Friday evening thru Sunday!
In past years, the festival spread over one mile along Milwaukee Avenue, creating an extended celebration of local art, but also making it more difficult to enjoy the entire festival. Last year, the MAAF was contained within the quarter mile stretch between Kedzie on the south and Diversey on the north end. This adjustment made it easier for music lovers to catch bands on both stages, and allowed more time for art lovers to browse the art available for purchase.
The 2014 festival will return to the same stretch of Milwaukee Avenue from Kedzie to Diversey and will continue the tradition of offering a unique variety of food, music and art. While many of the performers are local, the MAAF also draws national talent to the stages. Above is a sample of some of the local and national talent performing onstage at MAAF 2013. These are appetizer-size, so feel free to sample everything. Unfortunately, none of these bands are scheduled to perform at this year’s festival.
