New Place, Old Name

The new tavern at Milwaukee and Spaulding honors the past with its name and decor. The Harding Tavern is named after The Harding Theater, which operated at the same location until 1963. The classic decor with dark wood and windows that open wide to the streets provide a comfortable setting for a sandwich and/or a drink, or a neighborhood spot to watch a game or two.

They describe their menu as “upscale tavern fare”. This includes a variety of options from wings and fries to salads, burgers and entrees. The portions are quite sizable, to say the least. You will not be hungry after eating one of their burgers. Check out this video for a peak inside The Harding. Or check out  The Harding Tavern website for more details on their menu.
